City of London International Banking School was established in London in 1994 in the global capital of international finance with the aim of providing training to banks and bankers from the newly emerging transitional economies of Central and Eastern Europe.
At the outset we recognized that bankers in these newly emerging markets would need to concentrate on particular subject matters responding to the new features of their new economies.
In the early period we developed a range of short stay residential training courses in London covering the key areas of banking and finance such as Credit Risk Assessment & Analysis, Asset & Liability Management, Problem Loan Management, Trade Finance, Risk Management, Bank Marketing and Bank Audit, and all these courses remain highly relevant and popular. As we developed we have added more subjects such as Islamic Finance and in 2006 we further broadened our course curriculum.
Working with partner organizations we are now able to offer the qualification courses of the prestigious Securities and Investment Institute of London (S.I.I.), the Chartered Institute of Accountants of England and Wales (I.C.A.E.W.) and the Chartered Insurance Institute (C.I.I.) These qualification courses combine e-learning, home study and class room study in London or locally with the School’s tutors and with students from other banks. You can learn more about all our courses under Course Finder, and we can help you join these organisations, prepare you for their exams and arrange for you to be entered for the examinations at the sittings which suit your preparation and convenience.
Since inception the City of London International Banking School has specialized in working with banks located in The Russian Federation and in other countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Among our clients we can count banks such as AgroPrombank and BashPromBank from Russia, Eurasia Bank from Kazakhstan and a number of other regional CIS banks.
The School employs the most qualified and experienced practitioners within each subject matter. Our trainers are former bankers and financiers who have worked with leading institutions in their own sphere of activity, and none of them has less than 20 years of experience within their specialism.
Our reputation is Your Reputation
The aim of the School is to make its courses as practical and accessible as possible to our students using case studies drawn from the actual experience of the tutor. We offer public courses where bankers from one country study with financiers from other countries, or we can tailor courses specifically for your bank’s requirements and deliver in your home location.
In London our courses are delivered in English with Russian consecutive translation. English is the acknowledged international language of business and all qualification and certificate exams courses are only delivered in English. In preparation for exams courses and our courses which take place in London we recommend that students undertake here in London an intensive course in English language concentrating on using banking language for 2 to 3 weeks prior to starting their bank course. We can make all the arrangements for those students who wish to do that.
Strengthen Your Staff
We recognize that bank training is expensive but we believe that the period of turbulence and turmoil experienced in international banking markets from mid 2007 to the current time has shown that now more than ever the importance of having well trained staff at all levels of the bank, at board level, as well as senior, middle and junior management levels, is indispensable and an invaluable investment in the most important asset of your institution - the bank staff and employees. |
